Payment & Payout Policy
This Payment & Payout Policy governs all payments, seller payouts, refunds, payment holds and financial transactions conducted through the My Adz South Africa Marketplace (“Marketplace”).
My Adz South Africa (“My Adz”, “we”, “our” or “us”) provides an online marketplace that connects buyers with independent third-party sellers. My Adz facilitates payment processing but, unless expressly stated otherwise, is not the seller of products listed on the Marketplace.
By using the Marketplace, buyers and sellers agree to comply with this Payment & Payout Policy.
Buyer Payments
Buyers must complete payment through the payment methods made available by My Adz at checkout.
Accepted payment methods may include:
- Credit Cards
- Debit Cards
- Instant EFT
- Apple Pay
- Samsung Pay
- Google Pay
- Other payment methods introduced by My Adz from time to time
Orders will only be confirmed once payment has been successfully authorised.
Secure Payment Processing
All Marketplace payments are processed using secure third-party payment providers.
My Adz does not store full payment card details and takes reasonable measures to protect payment information in accordance with applicable laws and industry standards.
Seller Payouts
Payments received from buyers will be held by My Adz from time of purchase until 8 days after delivery of which payouts may be released provided payout conditions have been satisfied.
Seller payouts may be released after:
- 8 days after an order has been delivered.
- The applicable buyer protection period has expired.
- No active dispute exists.
- Payment has cleared successfully.
- Fraud and compliance checks have been completed.
My Adz may determine reasonable payout schedules to protect both buyers and sellers.
Payout Schedule
Unless otherwise communicated, seller payouts will be processed according to the Marketplace payout schedule.
Payout processing times may vary depending on:
- Banks
- Public holidays
- Weekends
- Payment providers
- Compliance reviews
Estimated payout dates are provided as guidance only.
Seller Bank Account
To receive payouts, sellers must provide:
- An active South African certified bank account.
- Accurate banking information.
- Account holder details matching the verified seller.
My Adz may require supporting documentation to verify ownership of the nominated bank account.
Payouts will only be made to verified bank accounts.
Seller Verification
Before receiving payouts, sellers may be required to complete identity verification, including:
- Proof of identity.
- Proof of address.
- Business registration documents where applicable.
- Tax information where required.
- Bank account verification.
Failure to complete verification may delay or prevent payouts.
Marketplace Fees
My Adz may charge fees including:
- Marketplace commission (10%).
- Transaction fees.
- Listing upgrades.
- Promotional services.
- Subscription plans.
- Other optional Marketplace services.
Applicable fees will be disclosed before they are charged.
Taxes
Sellers remain solely responsible for:
- Income tax obligations.
- VAT registration where applicable.
- Tax reporting.
- Any other taxes required under South African law.
My Adz does not provide tax advice.
Refunds
Approved refunds will generally be returned using the original payment method used for the purchase.
Refund processing times depend on:
- Payment providers.
- Banks.
- Card issuers.
- Financial institutions.
Refunds are subject to the Marketplace Refund & Returns Policy.
Chargebacks
If a buyer initiates a chargeback through their financial institution, My Adz may:
- Suspend the related payout.
- Recover funds already paid where permitted by law.
- Request supporting documentation from the seller.
- Investigate the transaction.
Sellers agree to cooperate fully during any chargeback investigation.
Payment Holds
My Adz may temporarily hold seller funds where necessary, including where:
- Fraud is suspected.
- A dispute exists.
- Identity verification is incomplete.
- A chargeback has been initiated.
- Unusual selling activity is detected.
- Required documentation has not been provided.
- Legal or regulatory obligations require a hold.
Payment holds are intended to protect buyers, sellers and the Marketplace.
Fraud Prevention
To protect Marketplace users, My Adz may:
- Review transactions.
- Verify identities.
- Request additional documentation.
- Delay payouts.
- Cancel suspicious transactions.
- Restrict Marketplace accounts.
- Cooperate with financial institutions and law enforcement.
Users must not attempt to bypass Marketplace security measures.
Failed Payments
Orders may be cancelled where:
- Payment authorisation fails.
- Payment is reversed.
- Payment expires before completion.
- Fraud checks fail.
- Required payment information is incomplete.
No contract of sale exists until payment has been successfully received.
Currency
Unless otherwise stated, all Marketplace prices and payments are processed in South African Rand (ZAR).
Incorrect Payouts
If an incorrect payout occurs, sellers agree to:
- Notify My Adz promptly.
- Cooperate in correcting the error.
- Repay any overpayment where applicable.
My Adz may offset future payouts where legally permitted.
Account Suspension
My Adz may delay, restrict or suspend payouts where a seller:
- Breaches Marketplace policies.
- Commits fraud.
- Provides false information.
- Sells prohibited products.
- Fails identity verification.
- Receives excessive buyer complaints.
- Violates applicable laws.
Suspension of payouts does not limit any other rights available to My Adz.
Limitation of Liability
While My Adz facilitates secure payment processing, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted payment services or banking systems operated by third parties.
To the extent permitted by law, My Adz shall not be liable for delays caused by banks, payment processors, internet outages, or events beyond our reasonable control.
Changes to this Policy
My Adz South Africa may amend this Payment & Payout Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be published on the Marketplace, and continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
