Prohibited Items Policy
This Prohibited Items Policy outlines the products, services and content that may not be listed, advertised, sold or purchased through the My Adz South Africa Marketplace (“Marketplace”).
The purpose of this policy is to protect buyers, sellers, My Adz South Africa (“My Adz”, “we”, “our” or “us”), and the wider community by ensuring that all Marketplace activity complies with South African law, payment provider requirements, and our Marketplace Terms & Conditions.
All users are responsible for ensuring that their listings comply with this policy & the posting rules before publishing them.
My Adz reserves the right to remove any listing, suspend accounts, cancel transactions, or report unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities where necessary.
General Rule
You may only list items that:
- You legally own or are authorised to sell.
- Are legal to sell within South Africa.
- Do not infringe the rights of others.
- Can be lawfully transported or delivered.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
Illegal Items
The following may not be listed:
- Stolen goods.
- Counterfeit products.
- Smuggled goods.
- Goods obtained through fraud.
- Items subject to government seizure.
- Property involved in criminal activity.
- Forged or altered documents.
- Fake licences or permits.
- Fake identification documents.
- Illegal imports or exports.
Weapons and Dangerous Items
Listings may not include:
- Firearms.
- Ammunition.
- Explosives.
- Bomb-making materials.
- Grenades.
- Military weapons.
- Illegal knives.
- Switchblades prohibited by law.
- Silencers or suppressors.
- Firearm components intended to bypass legal controls.
- Tasers or prohibited self-defence weapons where restricted by law.
- Dangerous chemicals intended to cause harm.
Kitchen knives, gardening equipment and lawful tools intended for legitimate domestic or commercial use may be listed where permitted by law.
Drugs, Medicines and Medical Products
The following are prohibited:
- Illegal drugs.
- Narcotics.
- Controlled substances.
- Drug paraphernalia primarily intended for illegal drug use.
- Prescription medication.
- Prescription-only medical devices.
- Counterfeit medicines.
- Expired medicines.
- Unlicensed medical treatments.
- Human organs or body parts.
Approved over-the-counter healthcare products may be listed where permitted by law.
Alcohol, Tobacco and Nicotine Products
The Marketplace does not permit the sale of:
- Alcoholic beverages.
- Cigarettes.
- Cigars.
- Tobacco products.
- Electronic cigarettes.
- Vapes.
- Nicotine pouches.
- Nicotine liquids.
- Hookah tobacco.
- Related smoking products where prohibited by law.
Hazardous Materials
The following are prohibited:
- Toxic chemicals.
- Hazardous waste.
- Radioactive materials.
- Biohazards.
- Industrial poisons.
- Corrosive substances.
- Dangerous pesticides.
- Flammable explosives.
- Materials requiring specialised licensing for transport.
Counterfeit and Infringing Goods
You may not list:
- Counterfeit branded products.
- Replica designer goods advertised as genuine.
- Pirated software.
- Pirated movies.
- Pirated music.
- Illegal streaming devices.
- Unlicensed copies of books.
- Copyright-infringing digital downloads.
- Trademark-infringing products.
Only genuine products may be sold.
Adult Content
The following are prohibited:
- Pornographic material.
- Sexually explicit products where prohibited.
- Escort services.
- Prostitution-related advertisements.
- Adult services.
- Obscene content.
- Exploitative material.
Listings must remain suitable for a general audience.
Wildlife and Environmental Products
You may not sell:
- Endangered animals.
- Protected wildlife.
- Ivory.
- Rhino horn.
- Illegal animal products.
- Live wild animals where prohibited.
- Protected plants.
- Illegal timber.
- Products obtained through poaching.
Financial and Government Documents
The following are prohibited:
- Currency counterfeiting equipment.
- Counterfeit money.
- Fake banknotes.
- Credit card information.
- Bank account details.
- Government-issued identity documents.
- Passports.
- Driver’s licences.
- Social grant documentation.
- Confidential personal information.
Recalled or Unsafe Products
The following may not be listed:
- Recalled products.
- Unsafe children’s products.
- Products subject to mandatory safety recalls.
- Goods that fail required safety standards.
Digital Abuse
Users may not sell or distribute:
- Malware.
- Viruses.
- Hacking software.
- Stolen digital accounts.
- Password databases.
- Phishing tools.
- Software designed to facilitate cybercrime.
Fraudulent Listings
Listings are prohibited where they:
- Mislead buyers.
- Contain false descriptions.
- Use deceptive photographs.
- Misrepresent product condition.
- Misrepresent ownership.
- Inflate specifications.
- Conceal defects.
Services Not Permitted
The Marketplace may not be used to advertise:
- Illegal employment opportunities.
- Pyramid schemes.
- Multi-level marketing scams.
- Money laundering services.
- Fake investment opportunities.
- Gambling services where unlawful.
- Loan sharking.
- Human trafficking.
- Criminal services.
- Contract cheating or academic fraud.
Restricted Products
Certain products may require additional verification, licences or approval before being listed.
My Adz may request supporting documentation for products including:
- Motor vehicles.
- Firearm accessories permitted by law.
- Commercial machinery.
- Precious metals.
- High-value electronics.
- Luxury goods.
- Livestock.
- Business assets.
Failure to provide requested documentation may result in listing removal.
Seller Responsibilities
Sellers are responsible for ensuring that:
- Listings comply with this policy.
- Products comply with South African law.
- Product descriptions are accurate.
- Images accurately represent the item being sold.
- They have the legal right to sell the item.
Ignorance of this policy does not exempt sellers from enforcement action.
Reporting Prohibited Listings
Users who identify prohibited or suspicious listings are encouraged to report them within the Listing or to contact us.
My Adz will review reports and may investigate listings where appropriate.
Enforcement
Where this policy is breached, My Adz may, without prior notice:
- Remove or disable listings.
- Cancel transactions.
- Withhold seller payouts where permitted by law.
- Suspend or permanently terminate accounts.
- Restrict Marketplace access.
- Report unlawful conduct to law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
- Cooperate with legal investigations.
Repeated or serious violations may result in permanent removal from the Marketplace.
Changes to this Policy
My Adz South Africa may amend this Prohibited Items Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be published on the Marketplace, and continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
